The Institute of Environmental Research and Education and the Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board partner to host an annual environmental symposium. The symposium provides a unique platform for community members, regulatory agencies, scholars, and innovators to come together and engage in discussions related to environmental policy, sustainability, and resilience.

The purpose of the symposium aims to foster cooperation and dialogue among stakeholders involved in environmental protection and improvement while providing the opportunity for community interaction.  The symposium provides valuable opportunities for communication and helps to further the goal of protecting our limited natural resources and improving the quality of life in Northeast Florida.

The Jacksonville Environmental Symposium "Equitable Solutions in Action: Sustainability, Resilience and Stewardship" has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025. It will be held at the Adam W. Herbert University Center alongside representatives from government agencies, utilities and innovators in a forum designed to foster an atmosphere of cooperation in environmental achievement.

Attendees enjoy the opportunity to attend two keynote addresses, breakout sessions and network with exhibitors. Registration for the 2024 symposium has closed.

Past Symposium

With the release of the Jacksonville’s Resilience Strategy, the 2023 River Report, welcoming remarks by President Limayem and Mayor Deegan, and a progressive agenda providing education, updates and goals, the 2023 symposium was filled with insight.
