Crime Log/Fire Log

Each institution with a police or security department is required to maintain a public crime and fire log. The crime and fire logs are the daily records of all crimes and fires that have been reported to the University Police Department. They are organized chronologically and are updated on a daily basis.

Paper copies of both the crime and the fire logs are available upon request. Requests can be made in person at the Martin P. Garris Police Building, 1 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Drive (Building 41), Jacksonville, FL 32224 during normal business hours. The log is available for inspection in the UPD lobby 24 hours a day.

CRIME LOG:

The crime log, a crucial tool for campus safety, includes crimes that occurred on campus, in or on non-campus buildings or property, on public property within the campus, or immediately adjacent and accessible from the campus, and reports of crimes that occurred within UPD's patrol jurisdiction.

Information may be temporarily withheld if there is clear and convincing evidence that releasing it would jeopardize an ongoing investigation, jeopardize an individual's safety, cause a suspect to flee or evade detection, or result in the destruction of evidence.

Furthermore, a CSA Report is not a report to the police department. CSA reports are documented incidents of Clery crimes occurring on Clery geography that were reported to a designated CSA to track crime statistics and provide safety information to the community. These reports are distinct from the crime log. Since these reports are not official reports to campus police, UPD cannot conduct an investigation. The Clery Act Manager typically has limited information on these incidents. For more information on the distinction between the crime log and CSA reports, please see the Clery FAQ tab.

FIRE LOG:

The Fire Log records any fire that occurred in an on-campus student housing facility. Fires that occur anywhere else on campus, or in any non-campus property are not included.

For more information on fire safety, fire statistics in on-campus residence halls, or fire safety systems in on-campus residence halls please see the Fire Safety Report within the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.
