Main Studio

The main studio is well equipped for the range of processes offered.  Students learn intaglio, lithography, screenprinting, and relief printmaking in a large well ventilated studio.  Two vent hoods were replaced in 2021, one used mainly in Intaglio for working with grounds and another used for working with acid.

  • The studio has 5 intaglio presses: a 54”x32” American French Tool Press, 48”x28” Conrad, 48”x24” Martech, 72”x36” Ettan, and a 48”x18” motorized Sturges press. In addition, a small portable 12” x 20” Blick Press.
  • There is one 43” x 30” Conrad Lithography Press.  Capabilities for stone lithography have been recently added with the purchase of a library of small stones from Syracuse University.
  • Photoprocesses in Lithography and Screenprinting are served by a 38”x 55” Work Horse UV LED Exposure Unit purchased in Winter 2019.
  • There are two main interconnected studios used for classes, along with additional rooms for the exposure unit, screenprinting washout room, and intaglio acid room.

Digital Lab

The main printmaking studio is served by an adjacent Digital Research Lab. In 2015 Professor Goloborotko utilized University and private funding to convert two offices into the Printmaking Digital Research Lab and secure start-up equipment.  Professor Goloborotko and Professor Kozlowski have received further grants in 2018 and 2019 to add more equipment to the space.  Currently the space features

  • 5 iMac computers running Adobe Creative Cloud (two purchased with 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Academic Technology Grants) .
  • There are several printers available for different processes:  an Epson Stylus Pro 4000 Ink Jet printer (donated by GDDM), an HP Designjet T120 large format inkjet printer, an HP 700 M712 laser printer, and an HP Laser Jet Pro M201DW laser printer (all purchased with 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Academic Technology Grants).
  • An additional Windows computer is used to run an MH 700 Vinyl Cutter on loan from Professor Kozlowski.
  • For digital documentation there are two Plustek scanners, an EPSON V700
  •  scanner, and a documentation stand and dSLR camera (purchased with a 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Academic Technology Grant).
