Center for Aging Research

The Center for Aging Research's main goal is to implement ongoing research on aging service issues and serve as a centralized information resource center for senior services in the northeast Florida region.

Background

In January 2018, the Center for Aging and Adult Studies was reactivated as the Center for Aging Research. This center operates through the 香港六合彩开奖结果2023's College of Health and is designated as an official Type II Center by the State University System (SUS). The Center is actively pursuing funding through grants and contract activities. The Center's goal is to implement ongoing research on aging service issues and serve as a centralized information resource center for senior services in the northeast Florida region.

Mission Statement

The mission of the 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Center for Aging Research is to facilitate and support interdisciplinary research that seeks to identify, evaluate and disseminate new knowledge related to health, equity, and social services needed to ensure optimum quality of life for our growing Older Adult population

Objectives

  • Conduct original, collaborative research in the public and private aging services field including research related to the physical, psychological, and social process of aging.
  • Contribute to the development of public policy impacting social and health care services for the elderly.
  • Promote recognition of and collaboration with public and private organizations and individuals providing health and social services for the elderly in the Northeast Florida Region.
  • Promote education on aging issues at the undergraduate and graduate level across the university and contribute to continuing education for professionals serving the aging population.
