Certificate Description 

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics offers eligible students the opportunity to earn a SAS certificate. Because today's businesses depend upon your ability to analyze and interpret data you need the knowledge and technical skills to make decisions that stand up to scrutiny from your supervisors, clients, and customers. A baccalaureate degree from 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 in Math or Stat combined with a SAS certificate provide you with the tools you need to be confident that your projects are backed by proven methodology, a solid plan, and strong data-driven assessments.

As a student in our Mathematics and/or Statistics degree programs, you can increase your understanding of mathematical and statistical models while you train on a well - known and well-used industry- standard software package, SAS. The certificate recognizes your practical and theoretical knowledge, and it confirms that you have the tools that you need to handle and analyze data/modeling problems for your organization.

To receive the Certificate, you must have at least a grade of C in each certificate courses. Important Notices:

Please contact department chair for an OFFICIAL program of study. This certificate is pending evaluation of official transcripts. Some courses require additional prerequisites. You must complete course prerequisites before registering for any certificate courses. Refer to the course catalog for details.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the certificate will be able to:

  • Analyze data using a major statistical software, Statistical Analysis System (SAS)
  • Design databases to store, manipulate, and query data
  • Design principles for creating meaningful displays of quantitative and qualitative data to facilitate managerial decision-making
  • Build predictive models such as decision trees and regression models
  • Apply association and sequence discovery to transaction data
  • Create SAS labels and formats to generate customized data reports
