The 香港六合彩开奖结果2023’s Creative Writing program in the Department of English is proud to bring together five leading authors of crime fiction to share their work and insights into the genre. The Crime Writing Symposium will be held on Tuesday, Nov.14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Gallery of Art, in Founders Hall, Building 2, Room 1001.
Guest authors include:
Reed Farrel Coleman is a highly acclaimed author of 32 novels, including six in the Jesse Stone series. He has won numerous awards, including four Shamus Awards and is a four-time Edgar Award nominee. Reed has also served as an adjunct lecturer at Hofstra University and as the Executive Vice President of Mystery Writers of America.
Matt Goldman is a bestselling author and Emmy-award-winning television writer. He has written for many shows, including Seinfeld and Ellen. Matt has published several novels, including “Gone to Dust,” “Broken Ice,” “The Shallows” and “Dead West.” His latest novel, “A Good Family,” was published in 2023, and “Still Waters” will be released in 2024.
Charles Salzberg is an accomplished writer and former journalist, with articles published in various publications such as Esquire, the New York Times, and GQ. He has written non-fiction books and several crime novels, including “Swann's Last Song,” “Second Story Man,” “Devil in the Hole” and “Man on the Run.” Salzberg has also taught writing at several prominent institutions, including Sarah Lawrence and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Tom Straw is a New York Times best-selling author, Emmy and Writer’s Guild of America-nominated writer-producer and board member of the Mystery Writers of America. He created the Nikki Heat series under the pen name Richard Castle and wrote its first seven novels, all of which were New York Times bestsellers. Tom also worked on popular comedies including Night Court and served as a head writer and executive producer for shows like Dave’s World and Nurse Jackie.
Michael Wiley is a Shamus Award-winning author of twelve novels and two books of literary criticism. He has written over forty critical reviews and articles, and his short stories have appeared in various magazines and anthologies. Michael is also a former board member of the Mystery Writers of America and has taught literature and writing at 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 for twenty-five years.
The event, hosted by 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 English assistant professor Mark Ari, will include readings, a Q&A, book sales and signing.
This symposium is made possible by the Wainright-Roberts Endowment. Amy R. Wainright was a beloved instructor in the 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 English department. This endowment, established by her family, encourages, enriches and inspires creative writing students with the Roberts-Wainright Scholarship Awards for Creative Writing, master classes and more.
