Physical Therapy Department receives Research Instrumentation Grant to study muscle function

The 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Department of Physical Therapy will be getting new equipment to study muscle function and the mechanics of balance and gait after receiving the 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 Shared Research Instrumentation Grant (SRIG). The grant, led by Dr. Guilherme Cesar, will instrument 香港六合彩开奖结果2023’s Physical Therapy Research Lab with equipment and will be used by 16 faculty members from four Departments to enhance their research initiatives while providing students with innovative learning experiences. 

The biomechanical instruments purchased will be used to collaboratively advance two lines of Dr. Cesar’s research. The first is the balance and mobility needs of children with neurologic-induced disabilities to enhance participation in life activities. The second research line is focused on the detection of athletic lower extremity risk of injuries and enhanced performance and is directed to immerse students from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, CAMS, and Engineering, in research activities to generate conference presentations and peer-review manuscripts.
