Atomic Lego Lab 3D Virtual Tour

Overview

The Atomic Lego Lab is a research laboratory utilizing Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) with the goal of developing next-generation materials for potential use in multiple industries. Below is a 3D interactive tour of the lab, which was added to the Atomic Lego Labs website to give visitors an immersive walkthrough of the lab. Please be advised the 3D tour does not contain audio.

The Research Technology Services (RTS) staff worked closely with the Atomic Lego lab personnel to address technological challenges affecting the lab’s functionality, specifically focusing on resolving issues related to the computers utilized with the MBE equipment.

Persons with disabilities who need additional assistance with the content on this page, please contact Research Technology Services at rts@unf.edu.

  • Atomic Lego Lab 3D Virtual Tour

The virtual tour above allows users the ability to virtually walk through the Atomic Lego Lab.  User can walk around the two Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and view the inner workings of the two chambers. Users can click on the different tags to get more information on some of the parts including: effusion cell, the RHEED, and the control electronics for the chamber. The interactive tour allows users to visit the lab without physically visiting the 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 campus.

  • Provided Computer Upgrades and Repairs
RTS staff deployed updated computers with the necessary software, removing the existing worn-out ones. The computers were connected to the appropriate network depending on their intended use. RTS staff successfully repaired older, broken computers containing costly internal components that are not currently being replaced.
  • Configured 24/7 Monitoring
When the MBE equipment is in operation, 24/7 monitoring is essential, requiring lab personnel to have remote access to the lab’s computers using the same login account. Remote access for the lab account was set up using Passman authentication.
  • Aided With Network Infrastructure Enhancements
To meet the requirements for remote access, RTS coordinated with the Information Technology Services (ITS) networking and security teams. They established a private network dedicated to isolating the lab’s equipment while allowing access to specific 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 resources. This involved reassigning network ports within the lab to facilitate connectivity to the private network.
  • Created A 3D Virtual Tour
RTS staff collaborated with lab personnel to create a 3D Virtual Tour of the lab using a Matterport camera. This 3D Virtual Tour was added to the ATOM Lego Labs website, providing users with an immersive walk-through of the lab.
