The Osprey Map provides a term-by-term sample schedule for each undergraduate academic program at the 香港六合彩开奖结果2023. It is designed to guide students in the selection of courses each term. The "Mile Marker" courses are those courses that should be completed before or by the end of that term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point of your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The term-by-term model assumes full-time enrollment. For students enrolled part-time, the sample schedule and mile markers should be followed based on the number of credits completed. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.
Electrical engineers harness electrical energy for the benefit of humankind. The profession is broad and encompasses products valued by society in many technical areas from communications to electric power and energy use to those for our current "Information Age". Employment opportunities range over product design, development, manufacturing, sales, management, teaching, and research. Employers include industrial companies, consulting firms, and government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
Career Planning
Engaging in career planning activities is significant to student success. 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 offers customized career centers to deliver targeted programs, events, services and resources. First-Year and Exploratory students should visit the webpage and Sophomore or higher level students with a declared CCEC major should visit the CCEC Career Development Center. The Center provides information on companies seeking electrical engineering graduates for permanent positions or current students for employment in cooperative education positions.
Students should refer to their personalized Degree Evaluation provided by an academic advisor and to other university resources for additional university and college-specific policies. Visit the undergraduate university catalog for more information.
Summer terms may be utilized to facilitate graduation in four years.
- Visit the university catalog for a list of General Education requirements. An Associate in Arts (AA) degree from a Florida public university, state college or community college satisfies 香港六合彩开奖结果2023 general education and Gordon Rule requirements. Math selection is contingent upon appropriate placement score, the student's major and credit received through accelerated mechanisms (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Enrollment, etc).
- Visit the Electrical Engineering Program webpage for a complete list of Electrical Engineering prerequisites.
- Students requiring preparation for MAC 2311 Calculus I take MAC 1147 Precalculus. Prerequisite for CHM 2045/2045L General Chemistry I with lab is completion of CHM 1025 Introduction to Chemistry or qualifying score on chemistry placement assessment. MAC 2311 is a prerequisite for PHY 2048C. Beginning the mathematics and science sequences immediately is crucial to stay on-track for graduation. Find specific admission criteria for this program on your Degree Evaluation, college website, university catalog or consult your academic advisor. For more information visit the CCEC Advising Office webpage.
- The School of Engineering enforces a One Repeat Rule for all prerequisite courses and all core engineering courses. Students who do not successfully complete a prerequisite or core requirement for a School of Engineering course on the first attempt (i.e., earn a grade of D, F, or W) must repeat the course. The course must be passed with a C or better on the second attempt or the student will be suspended from the engineering program and not allowed to continue in that engineering program. A student is allowed to change major from engineering program with higher aggregate GPA to engineering program with lower aggregate GPA. The only exceptions to this policy are withdrawals for medical, military and fully refunded withdrawals (i.e., WM, WS and WR, respectively). Find specific admission criteria for this program on your Degree Evaluation, college website, university catalog or consult your academic advisor. For more information visit the CCEC Advising Office webpage.
- All Engineering Core courses (starting in Term 5) are typically offered once a year and should be completed in the Term indicated on the Osprey Map. For additional information consult an academic advisor.
- Electrical Engineering students have an option to choose a Minor in Mathematics with minimal additional credit hours. Please consult an academic advisor for more information.
- Civic Literacy Requirement: Prior to graduation from a Florida state university, students must demonstrate competency in civic literacy through successful completion of a civic literacy course (AMH 2010, AMH 2020, or POS 2041) and by achieving a passing score on an assessment. Consult an academic advisor, the university catalog and visit the Civic Literacy webpage for additional information.
- A minimum of 120 hours (48 hours at the upper 3000/4000 level) is required for the bachelor's degree.
